STMicroelectronics and Alango Technologies, Inc. announced that they have reached a technology licensing agreement: STMicroelectronics will integrate Alango's cutting-edge software technology into its advanced automotive infotainment, such as Bluetooth chips for hands-free phone accessories. Automotive electronics industry analysts currently predict that as of 2012, about 45% of new cars in the world will be equipped with hands-free phone equipment. The Alango VCP kit includes echo suppression, single and dual microphone noise reduction, automatic gain control and more value-added technology for improved sound quality. From now on, Alango VCP technology will be integrated into ST's automotive infotainment portfolio, including the STA2500D Bluetooth chip and the company's most advanced Cartesio navigation application processor.
