The LED is used for indoor lighting, and the illumination source can be adjusted to change the indoor light with the time of morning, noon and night, so that the indoor light environment is close to natural light such as moon, stars and sun. At present, semiconductor lighting has begun to fully enter the home lighting, from the simplest holiday decorative lights, to desktop lighting table lamps, chandeliers, gallery lights and garden lights, especially combined with solar cells, has become the highlight of the modern living environment, to beautify, The role of improving the quality of life.

The development speed of semiconductor lighting is basically 50% increase in luminous efficiency every 18 months, and the cost is doubled. From the US semiconductor lighting plan roadmap, it can be known that in 2007, white LEDs gradually entered the general lighting market. In 2010, some white LEDs will replace fluorescent lamps and enter the main market including home lighting. China has surpassed the United States in the semiconductor lighting application market, and believes that it will occupy a large market share in home lighting in 2010.

The requirements of indoor lighting for light source are: to ensure that the work, study, living environment achieves comfortable illumination standards and good illumination quality, objectively display the brightness and color of the object, and obtain the real effect of the human eye directly observing the external scene. While having high luminous efficiency and sufficient brightness, there should also be a color temperature close to natural light and a high color rendering index.

At present, the main problems in the indoorization of semiconductor lighting are: first, the light effect needs to be improved; second, the color temperature, the color temperature of the white LED synthesized by the blue light-excited yellow phosphor is relatively cold; the third is the color rendering index, and the color coefficient is better than the ideal solar spectrum. There is still a gap; the fourth is life, the actual life is affected by many factors, the distance from the theory of 100,000 hours is still relatively far; the fifth is power, low power, can not meet the needs of indoor lighting.

The entry of LED into indoor lighting is the most important milestone in the entry of semiconductor lighting into the general lighting market. The technical problems faced are also the most prominent, which requires further development from the following aspects. First, improve the quality of the epitaxial material of the chip, improve the internal quantum efficiency and luminous efficiency, and increase the service life of the LED. Secondly, improve the packaging technology of the LED, improve the light extraction efficiency, and solve the heat dissipation problem of the high-power LED; again, scale production, Reduce the production cost of LEDs; finally, develop new technologies to increase the color temperature and color rendering coefficient of LEDs.

From the current development of technology at home and abroad, it is an inevitable process for LEDs to enter indoor lighting for thousands of households. Reasonable and effective government organizations, coupled with China's relevant research capabilities and corporate foundation, we are fully confident to achieve this goal. If the home lighting is generally using LED lighting tools, this market will be very huge. The next three to five years are an important period of development, and semiconductor lighting will spring up in the general lighting field. With the maturity of upstream chip development and the continuous expansion of the MOCVD epitaxial furnace capacity of suppliers, the unit production cost of LEDs will be greatly reduced, thereby eliminating the biggest cost barrier for LEDs entering general lighting.
