The TPS92690 DC / DC LED controller includes various features that provide designers with a high degree of flexibility in optimizing the system. For example, the adjustable switching frequency (up to 2 MHz) and current sensing threshold can help designers optimize LED driver electronics for small size, high efficiency, or a balance of the two. Independent pulse width modulation (PWM) and analog input combined with general dimming control method can adjust LED current or perform heat return. The internal oscillator can set the converter switching frequency, but it can also be overdriven by an external clock to synchronize the switching frequency with other converters in the design. Low-side current sensing not only enables the design of low-EMI topologies such as Cuk converters, but also maintains the single-wire connection of LED loads.

TPS92690 belongs to TI's extensive LED driver product line, which includes LM3466, LM3409 and LM3421 / 3/4 DC / DC LED drivers.
