LG Display plans to increase the output of organic EL panels for television use from 1.7 million units in 2017 to 2.5 million to 2.8 million units in 2018. It is estimated that about 500 billion yen will be invested in the increase of production in 2017, about 3 times of 2016. LG Display supplies organic EL panels to 13 TV companies including Sony Japan and Panasonic. LG said that its own "almost 100% share" in the field of organic EL panels for commercial TV.
