Steps Download and install the Keil DK-51 demonstration software from the website, unless the software is already used as application note 3083, "Using MAX7651 to achieve One step in the "ADC Conversion" application note is installed in the computer. Note: Please confirm that the software version you are using is 7.08 or higher. For software installation steps, please refer to the MAX7651 Quick Start Manual.
Click the Keil icon on the desktop to open Keil µVision 2, or open the software from the Windows® START menu.
Create a new project in Keil µVision IDE software.
Select a new folder and give the project a name.
In the Maxim-> MAX7651 directory, select MAX7651 in the database, and click the "OK" button.
Click "Yes" to copy the standard 8051 initialization program to the project folder and add files to the project.
Click the right mouse button on Target 1-> Source Group 1 to add files in Source Group 1.
To add source code, please refer to application note 3083, "Using MAX7651 to Realize ADC Conversion".
Set target options. Click the button to the left of the Target drop-down box and click the Target tab. Configure the Target as a 11.0592MHz crystal, select Use On-Chip ROM (0x0-0x3FFF), and specify the off-chip program memory starting at 0x4000 with a storage capacity of 0x8000; the off-chip Xdata memory starting at 0x0 with a storage capacity of 0x8000.
Set the output options and click Create HEX File.
Set the Debug option and click the Use Simulator option.
Click OK to save the option settings.
Select Rebuild all Target Files in the Project menu to start compiling the program.
Make sure that there are no errors after compilation, and the program can be downloaded to the MAX7651 target board. Please refer to application note 3083, "Use the serial downloader of the MAX7651 evaluation board to load the program into flash memory."
If you do not have the MAX7651EVKIT and / or want to use the Keil µVision emulator to run the program, click the Debug menu to open the debug dialog. When prompted to evaluate the version, click OK. Select the View menu and click Serial Window # 1. Select the Debug menu and click the Go button. The program will be run to perform analog-to-digital conversion of all 8 channels.
