According to the latest requirements of the US Energy Star (DLC), this sampling test found that many samples have an important parameter PF value related to the efficiency of LED driving power supply. According to the power of LED spotlights and the location of use, DLC requires PF value ≥ 0.5. However, the actual test result is that only 6 of the 30 samples are met, and the pass rate is 20%. Eighty percent of the samples were unqualified, and the lowest samples of the three companies, Hongyan, Delixi and Jingfei, were only 0.3. 
What is the PF value and what effect does it have on the lamp? "Not very clear," this is the reporter's answer to random interviews with some consumers who buy lamps at major lighting stores. The first thing that everyone pays attention to is the straightforward parameters of electric power and light efficiency.
The power factor is simply the ratio of the active power of the electrical equipment to the total power. The smaller the value, the greater the useless power of the electrical equipment. Liu Bin, deputy general manager of Antoshan Technology, said that for a single LED luminaire, especially for small power lamps within 10W, the impact is minimal. However, when the amount of use is relatively large, the larger the PF value, the more obvious the power saving effect.
Therefore, the average consumer does not pay much attention to parameters such as PF values. "Consumers' ignorance, coupled with the introduction of relevant mandatory standards in the country, such as the PF value is not negligible, it is inevitable. PF can meet the basic requirements for product cost considerations. That's it." Nie Pengxiang, president of the incentive test, said that only some products that are exported will be strictly required.
