According to the judgment, Jintai Electronics Co., Ltd. must not continue to sell certain LED products in Germany, and must destroy the inventory of these products in Germany. The court confirmed that Taitai Electronics infringed on three Osram patents but postponed a decision on a patent for LED packaging technology. The infringed patents relate to the production of white LEDs that convert blue light into white light by means of phosphorus. Osram claims that it was the first manufacturer to introduce white-light single-chip LEDs to the market in the late 1990s.

In the patent dispute between OSRAM and Taiwanese LED manufacturer Jintai Electronics, the German District Court of Düsseldorf almost supported all the claims of the former. The court ruled that this Taiwan Electronics violated Osram's patent and utility model rights.
