Located at the southwest corner of Dongzhimen Bridge, Raffles City Beijing consists of 3 buildings, including serviced apartments, office buildings and commercial buildings. The most unique of this building is its façade. The facade itself has two colors, black and white. The designer believes that it is enough to use the light to present these two colors at night, and does not want to bring subversive light and shadow effects to the building. Moreover, the light is as free as black and white on the window, without making a regular feeling. The original design was to hope that the podium had some color, while the main building was monochrome and white. However, customers believe that since LED products are used, they should use color – compromises must be faced during the design process. The ideas and goals of interior design are clear: I hope to create a bright, clean, young and stylish shopping environment. Some business-like dimly or warm shopping malls like the old ones are by no means considered here. In Raffles' business, the light strip is the main lighting method. Therefore, the uniformity of the lamp strip is emphasized by the designer from the beginning, and the designer provides the customer with detailed node and size requirements to ensure the final effect of the lamp strip. However, the actual lamp strip installed from the field was only 150mm in height. The design requirement of less than 300mm means that all the tubes will be exposed like ribs from behind the tensioned film. Fortunately, after careful experimentation, I found a pattern that resembles the façade. Many people who come to Fukus say that Raffles is bright and clean. In fact, this has a lot to do with the choice of light source. Instead of using a domestic fluorescent light source, the designer chose a 54W OSRAM imported fluorescent lamp because its color temperature (4000K) is more suitable for commercial lighting.
