Connected World plans to define how next-generation mobile devices can share gigabit-level data without Wi-Fi or cable

The program fundamentally simplifies engineering and design requirements for consumer IoT devices and applications, supporting applications such as mobile, home and automotive.

Foxconn, Keyssa? and Samsung jointly launch a disruptive "Connected World" smartphone ecosystem

Campbell, California — September 6, 2017 — Leading technology companies and Keyssa investors have announced the launch of the Connected World program, which aims to achieve ultra-fast data between mobile devices and growing networking devices. Transmission projects; companies and investors involved include Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd. (also known as Foxconn), the world's largest electronics manufacturing company, and Keyssa®, a high-speed, contactless technology leader, for car manufacturers and consumers. Samsung Electronics, the leader in networking products and solutions, and the inventor of the iPod, iPhone, and the founder of Nest, Tony Fadell.

About its specification

The core element of the Connected World ecosystem is Keyssa's proprietary Kiss ConnecTIvity connectivity technology. Its Kiss Connector is a proprietary, miniaturized, low cost, low power, all solid state, embeddable electromagnetic connector that can be used in the device. Secure large files with high bandwidth between them.

A new technical specification will detail all the requirements that must be met when standardizing the next generation of mobile connections between devices. The goal is to improve functionality and simplify engineering and design by breaking through the limitations of using cables and Wi-Fi for decades. Connected World will simplify the sharing of large data between smartphones, peripherals, accessories, smart homes and cars, and dramatically speed up the synchronization – simply by bringing the devices together, you can achieve gigabit-level data transfer.

Key components of the specification include mechanical attachment mechanisms for equipment, high-bandwidth electromagnetic channel requirements, and compliance testing of equipment. Keyssa will provide a license for all of its IPs in the specification, including its system-level patents. When the specification is made public, a reference design will be provided to the manufacturer.

Comments from major participants

"For our devices to achieve a seamless connection, Foxconn found great value in its consumption," said Dr. Chen, CTO of Foxconn. “We can imagine a world where devices can be connected to each other with a simple touch, and in this simple touch process, gigabit-level information is transmitted and shared. Keyssa's technology can go Realize this vision."

“The first iPhone has been around for 10 years, and this device defines the center of our digital life,” said iPhone inventor Tony Fadell. “But in terms of connectivity and interaction between devices, we have only achieved a small part of its potential. Soon we can see very high-speed connections between cars, home devices and mobile phones, it is creating a A truly connected world without the need for expensive mobile data connections.” Tony Fadell is a consultant for the Connected World program, the inventor of the iPod and iPhone, and the “Internet of Things (IoT)” pioneering company Nest. Founder. Tony is an early investor in Keyssa, serving as chairman of the company's board of directors and currently serving as a consultant to the company.

“We live in an increasingly interconnected world where devices, accessories, and even cars need to seamlessly transmit data, video streams, and communicate with each other,” said Young Sohn, president and chief strategy officer of Samsung Electronics and chairman of the HARMAN board. “Samsung invested in Keyssa from an early stage because we believe its unique technology has the potential to drive connectivity into a new era.”

“Many members of the China Communications Industry Association are domestic first-class mobile phone brand manufacturers and design companies. They are building world-class mobile phones to meet the ever-increasing demands of consumers and to cope with fierce competition.” China Communications Industry Association Chang Bingke commented. "In order to create mobile phones with significant differences and higher performance, manufacturers are adopting new technologies such as faster processors, larger memory, newer generation networks, higher pixel cameras, etc. The demand for advanced connectors has also brought many industrial design challenges. Keyssa's ultra-small and low-power contactless connectors are expected to bring new connections to the industry, creating a refreshing design. And user experience."

“Shenzhen Investment Control has been looking for opportunities to invest in companies that are able to bring new technologies and new business opportunities to Shenzhen,” said Shenkong Control. “We are pleased to be working with Keyssa and its Chinese company, Kesi (Shenzhen) Connector Technology Co., Ltd. to help bring Keyssa's innovative contactless connections to the region and Greater China.”

“We are very pleased to work with our investors and Chinese partners who have provided incredible support throughout the development of this innovative technology,” said Keyssa CEO Eric Almgren. "We can all look to a world where cables and mechanical connectors are no longer needed between devices without sacrificing bandwidth or security. This is what we have been uphold since its inception."
