Zhangzhou is a pilot city for the semiconductor lighting application project of the “Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Cities†of the Ministry of Science and Technology. In 2012, the city took the lead in launching the “Lighting the Luzhou Green Lighting†initiative. It plans to install 30,000 LED street lights in three years, and promote the use of LED green lighting for landscape lighting and community lighting to encourage public, commercial and home use. Indoor lighting uses LED lighting products.
In recent years, Zhangzhou High-tech Zone has increased the investment of LED enterprises, helping LED enterprises in the park to seek relevant industrial policies from the provinces and cities, and fully support the development of the LED industry. It has successively introduced dozens of LED enterprises such as Hualei Optoelectronics, Delta Electronics, Philips Lighting, Changqi New Energy, Jushen Electronics, Huazhuo Optoelectronics, and Huate Optoelectronics, becoming the main battlefield of Zhangzhou LED industry cluster.
In just a few years, the LED industry in Zhangzhou has “a sudden riseâ€. Hualei Optoelectronics owns 32 MOCVD equipments, and has an annual production capacity of 1.2 million epitaxial wafers. Changqi New Energy utilizes the patented technology of independent intellectual property rights to upgrade the LED to an integrated light-emitting working mode, and utilizes the red ion superconducting heat-dissipating technology to solve the technical problem of heat dissipation, greatly reducing the production cost and prolonging the service life of the product.
Huazhuo Optoelectronics, which settled in the park at the end of last year, has invested hundreds of millions of yuan to build energy-saving lighting production bases and large-scale automated production systems, and focuses on LED and induction lighting applications and lighting solutions. In less than one year, three production lines were built and trial production was successively launched, which effectively strengthened the LED industry cluster in the park. 
Recently, eight key LED companies including Hualei Optoelectronics, Philips Lighting, Huazhuo Technology, Huate Optoelectronics and Changqi New Energy have been successively held at the Luzhou LED Product Promotion Conference jointly organized by Ganzhou Economic and Trade Commission and Zhangzhou High-tech Zone. Product introduction, and on-site commercial and enterprise cooperation docking signing, the contract amount is as high as 600 million yuan.
