China, Beijing – Analog Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADI) has introduced two Ka-band devices, the HMC7053 and HMC7054, for single-carrier satellite communications applications. The HMC7053 modular upconverter and HMC7054 high power amplifier (HPA) have an output frequency range of 29 GHz to 31 GHz and a spurious-free dynamic range performance of -60 dBc, covering both commercial and military frequency bands, meeting military environmental requirements. The HMC7053 fully integrated Ka-band module upconverter can be upconverted to 29 GHz to 31 GHz with a linear output power of -30 dBm to 5 dBm, with dual input IF at 0 dBm (typ) and 20 dB conversion gain It is from 1 GHz to 2 GHz. The new module is designed with a dual-path frequency conversion scheme to ensure no inversion and to achieve the best level of spurious suppression. Other features include dual L-band inputs, SMA inputs and 2.9 mm output connectors, digital gain control and thermal monitoring and gain compensation. The HMC7054 fully integrated Ka-band HPA has a linear output power of 37 dBm, a small signal gain of 42 dB, an operating voltage of 5 V, and a power consumption of 14 A. The new device features a 2.9 mm input connector and WR28 waveguide output. Both the modular upconverter and the HPA are designed for conducted heat dissipation and operate over a temperature range of -20 °C to +80 °C.
